The
political nature of the forthcoming "truth"...
Album is a reflection of the insanity and
de-evolution of humankind. The idea was presented to me first by my
father, then again by Phil Kurnit, two men who are just about as pissed
off at the state of things as anyone I know. Dad said, "you got songs
about the bullshit that's going on... can't you do something with
them?" Phil said, "I know you have an ironic political brain,
any songs reflective of that?" So, same statement, same language.
sort of...and from two people I respect. Being almost completely
over my "knowing everything" stage, I paid attention. After
sending up to Phil songs I considered relevant, he proposed a complete cd.
It seems I have been angry for some time, as I delivered 15 songs I
considered appropriate to the ghoulish stupidity we are currently victim
to. Phil contacted Rob Stevens, and he jumped in as producer and detail
oriented pain in my ass. And I say dis wit deepest respect to yous, Rob!
I love it here…America,
I mean. But I am as helpless as you. I cannot get an audience with Bush,
nor can I afford to bribe Cheney, and so I can only do this...attempt to
scream loudly enough that we - the so-called people - may lift our heads from our subjective sands and voice our disgust
with the corruption, disparity, and horror created and nurtured by
megalomaniacs so far removed from the everyday struggle. If we
scream loudly enough, if we stop supporting them, if we tell them the
world is not theirs to own, maybe they will fall. It is obvious now, that
it is them or us.
